Title: Ignition system

I'm building a stroker BBC. Looking for best recommendations. I know MSD is really good, 6m-2L is that my best option?

Post by: J2 on April 30, 2016, 08:17:58 AM: MSD is a good choice. I pulled mine out and it's sitting in a box, billet distributor, 6-m2 & 6a, coil, wires, rev limiter.

I went with simple racing HEI. I could buy 3 of these for about the same price as all of the MSD parts I have. I also bought his plug wires. I run it locked.

We have used one for several seasons now with no problems.

If all you need is a box with a limiter the 6 M2 L is probably easier to get a BBC head mount for.

Why didn't you keep running the MSD?

I've gone through a couple of 6m-2 boxes over the years and 3 coils. I was having an unusual issue a while back and wanted to eliminate the ignition system. With so many pieces to the MSD I decided to pick up an HEI for testing. For the cost I thought it was worth the $375 to get this vs a stock HEI that I would never run. Once I ran it I liked it and haven't looked back. The guy who makes these was very helpful and I felt he really knew what he was talking about.
