Title: Imco powerflow
Post by: John209 on March 22, 2020, 11:11:53 AM
I am planning to drop the engine in my boat later this afternoon an was just thinking about the water routing. I have imco powerflow’s and wanted to pre heat the water prior to entering the block, problem I see is the lack of bungs/ports. Is it a real necessity to pre heat the water? I am now thinking of running the water in through the water pump ports. Out the t stat housing and into the bottom of the exhaust manifold. Would this be correct ? Thanks in advance for any tips.

I have the same ones, and you will not be able to pre heat your engine with those manifolds. Preheating helps with cold water coming into the block, but its not necessary. Water pushes through the block so fast that the engine will not get up to its proper operating temp. You're right water from pump to water inlet, out t-stat to exhaust manifolds.

Good Luck
