Title: Intake manifold question
Post by: Luckie Stiff on January 17, 2009, 07:59:57 AM
Can I port and polish and oval port BBC intake into a rect. port intake? Or am I just spinning my wheels?

People do it. Maybe easier to just get a square port mainifild. Seams like they're almost all square port. My last Jet boat had that done, wasnt real purty but worked.

Terry,
I keep looking and it seems like as soon as I find one I like, that ain't gonna make me poor, it's gone, or it's too damn much money (for my cheap ass anyway) The thing is, the boat runs great with the current setup, so I don't want to spend a lot of money on an intake just to find out it doesn't work as good as what I have. Capiche?

I really dont think a swap is going to wow you .
Those combos are a pain to tune but in my opinion run as good as any other combo properly tuned .
Mine ran spectacular .
When I swapped , it was back to square one to tuning and ripping my hair out and  :banghead:
Save your money and headaches , and check all the plugs for a lean condition that everyone seems to be talking about  ???
The only issue I had with mine was that it left me with lot's of drinking time  ;D
