I've searched, but just can't find the answer. If I missed a post that answers this please link it for me. I have a gen IV bbc 454 in my Commander jet boat running a Dominator pump. I am dropping in a remanufactured motor and have a line on a gen V. Are they interchangeable or will I need to mod things? Thanks.

What are you talking about? Swapping parts from gen iv to gen v, or swapping motor for motor in the boat? If you’re swapping motors then the mounts will work. As long as you’re not changing to bbf or bbo.

Straight swap, motor for motor. Out with the gen 4 and in with the gen 5.
-
The gen 5 is a 'tin' motor. So I don't have to worry about those parts.
-
Motor swap should be straight forward. What kind of mounts do you have 3 point, 4 point, rail kit?

There were a couple of thing that I can remember.
One was that the Gen V has no mechanical fuel pump boss. You'll need an electric fuel pump.
The other had something to do with a main seal which won't have anything to do with a swap.
I think you should be good to go.
