I spent over 4 hours typing in, and re-typing in a complete step by step rebuild with all the OLDS modifications I did on the motor, including pictures and every time I went to preview it before posting it ......it just went away.......so there is some cool information floating around in cyberspace :mad:
Anyway it sounds mean as hell, and it seems to be running a little rich but I wont know for sure until I get it out on the water (this weekend ;D) I will probably be heading to Lake Piru, anyone else heading out there this weekend?

Do like I do use your Email compose, You can spell check plus save it as a draft and rewrite re do any time never lose that way. You copy and past to this site, Motor LQQKs good is that an oil line
return from heads to pan work good to keep from loading top end with to much oil . I would like to read your
oil re work and what you did and some more pictures to, And it might help some others on here with Olds . Try it a gain ,Some port work pictures to. Love to see good pictures and ( READ GOOD TECH INFO). AND forget preview

I will give the "compose mail" a try I was totally ticked off when I lost the whole post for the third time I wasn't even going to post again but there are some pretty cool mods done to it and most of what I had done was on the hotboat site so all that is gone. I will give it another try when I have some time.
Speedy , yes I did the grinding on the valley and then some, I had a hell of a time with oil issues last year so I spent most of the time on this build just concentrating on that. Well I just got a call and my new gauges just came in, so its off to work to install them. I will try to set some time aside and post the last few months upgrades to the boat. Have a good one all !! ;D

Thanks for the compliments all, I used the same candy green I used on the hull, As for the head work, I didn't go crazy on the porting, just cleaned and smoothed out the ports, "IF" I can get through this season without hurting it, I will go through the valve train next time its getting refreshed. Basically I just had stainless valves put in, tripple angle grind, milled the heads to accept the longer heavy duty double springs, the larger retainers and keepers. I found some "E" heads, with the lower cc's, with the block and heads decked/surfaced, and a thin metal head gasket I was able to get around 10 to 1 on the compression
I am still super buisy trying to get a couple of cabinets jobs done, along with trying to get the boat finished up, but I should have some spare time this week, I will do a complete write-up on everything we did to it. I have put together alot of motors but always after the machine shop did the work, so being in the shop, and doing all the "gopher" work was a new "and way cool" experience, Don (my engine guy) didn't tell me all the tricks he had up his sleeve, but explained alot of what all the different tollerances and do's an don'ts. I will pass along what I can when I get a chance.
Thanks again for the kind words, wait til you hear this bad boy......its a pretty bitchen set-up, and I know its gonna make a few of the "cheby" guys think twice about bully-ing up on this olds ;D
