Post by: Sicaz66 on April 26, 2013, 12:22:21 PM
Was going through my folder of receipts I received with the new boat and found a receipt from Jeff blosdale motorsports. These guys any good? It was from 2001 but was told it had been sitting for almost 10 years before previous owner bought it. Seems to run really good.and looks new inside.so I believed the seller??

jeff blosdale was a friend of my dads and I grew up in his shop at his shop in torrance on del amo... later he moved out to havasu.  unfortunately he passed away too early and his son tried to keep the shop going and eventually it shut down.  jeff was one of the old school motor builders who just knew what worked and what didnt.  no dynos or fancy stuff.  he also raced flatbottoms.

this was my dads old boat motor built by blosdale.  it was problem free in the years we owned it and it never skipped a beat.

Doesn't look anything like that! Looks like a run of the mill jetboat motor. Ugly m/t valve covers someone thought would be a good idea to paint red. Hardin logs that need a polish. And what looks like a newly installed procomp intake that will hit the round file in favor of a real airgap. Had a vacuum carb with a goofylooking "double barrell scoop"the previous owner installed.not sure what it had before. Seems like a fairly fresh motor on the inside and starts and sounds good. Haven't run it yet due to a bad pump.

Receipt says $4500 for a 454 rebuild. No other info.seems like a lot of loot back in '01 not sure what's inside?? Has 049 oval port heads with stock rocker arms on a 14015445 block. Seems pretty standard??
