Title: log question
Post by: el mojado on May 30, 2012, 08:32:10 AM
I've seen log exhaust used with an over transom pipe. I guess a poormans header? Can i run my log exhaust without the snails with just a straightpipe through the transom?

You risk melting stuff...There needs to be some sort of water flowing through that part and also the rise in the snail will help keep water out of the engine.

No, you can't...What will keep the water from running straight into the engine at rest?

That is literally the only job of the riser...No HP gains to be had there any way.... Depending on your location I have a set of Gil OT pipes... ;)

I've still got the logs/ot pipes that came off of my boat.

BBC, PM me if you're interested.
