Exhaust hose option
« on: April 11, 2017, 05:00:32 PM »
I have logs and snails and bought new hoses I think 3 1/2 or 3 5/8 but have always had trouble getting them to fit right . So I looked at cp performance and they only sale 3 1/2 or 4 " . I already wasted the money on the wrong size hose no big deal . But my question is do I go with the 4 " hose or is there a better option.  I'm kind of concerned that the 4 " will be to big . The tips are plastic so not sure if I should go solid pipe or just stay with the rubber hose . Thanks in advance for any help or input .

I have the Hardin Marine logs and snails. My snails measure 3" ID and 3 1/2 OD. I bought 3 1/2" ID hoses from CP Performance and the exhaust hoses fits very snug. This hose is designed for only a marine exhaust Application and I would not use anything else. The only thing I would change is that I'm going to buy the bolt style hose clamps to really tighten down that connection point. It could be catastrophic if that came off out in the water.

Ps: it's easier to order the right length hose than cutting it down at home. Just a thought.
