Title: Milkshake Removal

I milkshaked a motor pretty damn good. whats the best way to clear it out? I've heard some pretty wild ideas, but what is the most effective way to do it without burning a ton of money at the same time.

well, yeah. but that obviously doesnt get it all out.

one of the wacky ideas i was told was to run diesel fuel through it  :screwy:

just drain it and put new oil and filter, start it and get the oil temp above 200 then change oil again and repeat. the only way to get it out is to burn it out.... or teardown the motor

Good excuse to go to the lake today.
I wouldn't let it sit too long with water in it, make sure you pull all the plugs and spin motor so you don't hydro a rod.

I sank my stand up ski years ago, pulled plugs in the beach, turned sideways and cranked til no more water shot out then ran the holy shit out of it the rest of the day.

ive herd of adding a little diesel fuel to the oil. the diesel attrackes the water that is left. but you have to change it out again after it warms up.

I've been told to let it sit for a day or two to let the water settle then drain it fill it run it for a while then drain and refill and your good


Edit: I also heard adding the marvel mystery oil helps

theres so many cervices and valleys and dips and bumps for water to hide letting it sit doesnt do anything.  just fill it up and run it then drain it.

This is a dumb question, but how did you get water in the oil in the first place?  What I mean is was it something you did on accident or did something fail? I’m just trying to save you the headache of changing the oil only to have it happen again.

head gasket or intake gasket failure.....or worse - cracked block or heads.
