So we tried to turn the motor by hand and nothing.We then took the heads off as wells the spark plugs to see if anything was inside the motor and still nothing,we even lubed the cylinders to try and break it free but still nothing now its to the point to where if we do get it to break free we are scared that it will gouge the cylinder walls someone pleas help ???

Almost sounds like a busted crank! Did this happen while the motor was running or did it just sit a long time?

does pump spin free.

if the pump spins free , I'd pull the oil pan before I tried to force it anymore.

The motor is 100% brand new and sat for 6 to 8 months and the pump does spin free??? :-\

What do we do after we pu;; the oil pan ?

Just look around and do a quick inspect to make sure there is nothing weged in there to stop it from turning.

flywheel boltss too long?

We checked the flywheel bolts also and its not that so after talking to a few people weve decided to take it back to the guy that built it rather than just keep tearing it apart and then he says we made the problem so its none of the obvious hopefully its nothing major so hopefully the guy stands behind his work the guy i bought this project from spent about 12k with this guy so everyone please pray for my motor ;D

i've got my motor back before with oversize bearings on a stock crank. I did all the same stuff trying to figure out why it wouldn't spin.

That was my 1st thought, if the builder will cover his work then of course let him do it, if not check the bearing clearances with Plastigauge

Believe it or not, "humidity" will cause the crank/ rod bearings to rust if so it will lock up. Depending on what rings you have they could rust to the cylinder, did you use a light weight oil in the cylinders? the lighter the better, my new 454 project was locked up so i filled each cylinder with tranny fluid and the next morning she was loose as a goose ;D Did it have oil in the pan? what did the oil look like? How /where was it stored?

nice flatty at this point i wish i would have bought aa turn key boat like that and i would have saved a lot of money to,anyways the motor was stored in so. cal i dont think it had oil in due to the fact that it had never been started,as far as the bearings go im not sure what the motor has this is my first jet boat and not really sure what it is i have

well thanks everyone for the help we found the problem,it was some sort of pin with the flywheel bolts that was pressed in to far ::)

yeah no shit im itching to put that thing in the water so if all goes well less than a month i just bought some cars today so were getting close

sounds like we are working on the same timeline, keep me posed on your progress, and when done we will have to hook up. i am going to get some updated pics this evening and start a project thread so i can document my progress. by the way very good choice in boats ;D
