today I noticed my block is 1" kicked to one side in the front of the boat is this going to f***up my drive line

the #1 cyl will be farther forward than the #5 in the block if that is what you are talking about? or is the hole motor crooked?

if its crooked....nah, driveline work better if they arent 100% straight. they like a couple degrees in them.

Well, it actually depends, 1" sounds like a lot, but if the pump is installed crooked, might be OK...
If you can, measure the driveline U-joints for how much offset there is, I like a 2* angular misalignment, but not offset...1" sounds extreme to me...

From what I see your motor is 8/10" out of plumb? It's not going to hurt anything to leave it like it is, I wouldn't waste the time to pull the motor simply to straighten it out.

Sorry Skipington, but not enough information has changed hands to be able to make a determination...
Angular misalignment is OK, that being said, if it is a compound mis alignment, meaning low/high or left/right in the rear and low/high or left/right in the front, you are trying to bend the HP twice, this puts undo stress on the driveline, the splines, the rear main of the engine and the thrust bearing of the pump....
My rule of thumb is "bend it a little, once"....a quick way to check it out is to get two u joint cups level from side to side and measure from the center of the cups from one another top and sides, I can't remember the acceptable measurement right now, but it's a small number....

short filter is the cheapest way to go, but if you like you can goto a remote oil filter set-up so you can run a large capacity filter
