Title: moving to electric fuel pump

Ok I want to swap out to a electric fuel pump. Any tips and tricks?   :banghead:Do I need to remove the old fuel pump and plug up the hole or can I just plug up the inlet and outlet? Any other thinigs I need to be awhere of.

I had a carter on my old boat and never had a problem, Is this a good one to get?

why do you want to go electric? just some thing else to go wrong

I agree with Ralph.  I have a 31 year old mechanical pump that was on my sons boat last week working.    It was a fill in till his new one came in from Summit.
I would doubt you'll find any electic pumps that last near that long.  ;)

Definately use a block off plate and pull the old pump if you do switch over.  No sense wasting HP
running a pump you aren't using. 

Then again, you could let the pump on and have some spare hose for the day the electric pump quits.

ok like I said I don't want to use an electric fuel pump anymore.... Thanks for saving me money and now I won;t get yelled at by the wife.  :screwy:

Put your E pump inline w/ the M pump, or remove it. If you run the M pump dry, it'll ruin the pump.
