Title: Msd 6al .. Which timing light?
Post by: 69kona on February 04, 2017, 05:50:36 PM
Got my new msd dizzy hooked up to my 6al box . My normal non dial back light was not working. Borrowed a digital dial back snap on light .. It really doesn't seem steady when shooting the balancer . Timing jumps around.
Does it matter what light to use with a Msd box? Thanks guys

Is your dizzy locked or mechanical advance? I've experienced the same thing when the rpm is to low especially with a mechanical advance.

Did you get the rpm up around 2500-3000? If not try it.

So it shouldn't matter if it's a dial back or non dial back timing light ?

Not sure about your timing light but, msd ignition systems require inductive lights to work properly.
