Got a new msd and I want to mount under the dash on my boat where it's nice and dry if I do this I have to extend some of wires from my dash to my dizzy and coil Question is will it work should I go a gauge thicker on the wires u need to extend what are your thoughts

I wouldn't do it.
Do you know how much voltage goes through that deal? Keep it very near the engine.

I agree with Glen in this. Mine has been pretty wet and never failed. I'm knocking on wood now. Lol

The put out in excess of 500 volts. That could get ugly fast, not to mention the interference it could generate.
They can get pretty wet.
How about under the aft deck?

could try there doesn't take much.for water to go over the back I was just thinking of a dryer place

We sank the raceboat twice on the same box. Lol

Not sure if you are running a back seat or not, but I mounted mine on the back of the back seat. Should do the trick 👌🏽

Mine is mounted off the stringer. My back seat goes right over it. So it's under the rear seat and I don't think it's ever been wet. Just an idea. Maybe some other can post a pic where they mounted they're as well and you'll figure out a great spot. :-)

Here's how I did mine

Mines mounted up high under the gunnel used the transom bolt that hold the pump on to secure my bracket
