Title: Need advice about this 455 Olds Motor
Post by: Stevecat on October 25, 2008, 08:31:35 AM
Hi,
I know nuttin about Olds. But I have this motor and I want to sell it. I think it is stock '74 marine engine probably never overhauled. Is it normal for the paint to be burnt above the exhaust ports like that? And are those two slits/cracks in the log flanges normal or did somebody cook this motor?

Thanks for your help.

The paint thing is normal if the paint is not a high temp paint. The two slits are to allow for expantion.

I want to find a nice home for it where it will be loved and have a place to sleep. Is it worth anything to anybody?
