Title: New build
Post by: 77Hardin on July 15, 2015, 12:21:52 AM
If I was to start putting a parts list together to builde a Supercharged BBC what block would people recommend to start with?   I have a newly built Berkley JG pump.   AB aluminum impeller with inducer.   The boat is an '88 Hardin Mini Day Cruiser.   I would like about 800hp on pump has.   What do you think?

Thanks

800 hp on aluminum impeler bad idea
You need a ss or a mag bronze. And hardens shaft that's my 2 cents

I don't think the aluminum impeller can take more than 550-ish

Blown 540 will give you what your looking for. You will need a stainless steel impeller. You will also need a AQ shaft. Give James a call at Bostick Racing engines a call he will head you in the right direction.
