Is reinforced (3in) hose necessary between the exhaust tip and the motor or can non-reinforced hose be used? Chevy 350, panther jet.

If the run is straight and only like a foot long then its not really needed.  Bends and long runs it could collapse.  The reinforced hose ain't cheap.  Try west marine in the bin for some remnants they're usually cheaper.
