Title: New motor now has knock
Post by: Rogers Hopeful on March 29, 2013, 10:31:45 PM: Motor in the Rogers started knocking out on the water today. thinking wrist pin. Has oil pressure can't hear knock at idle, inconsistent knock around 2000-2500rpm, and constant knock at 3000 rpm. But it was a nice day for a float from Parker bridge to big river park!!

Should have saved my money and just built it right and made sure the tolerances were right for a boat. We will see what's actually knocking when I take her apart

If you caught it early enough there shouldn't be a whole lotta damage.

My river trips were gonna be few anyways with a 2nd job that will require weekend work. Now it's extra money for the motor!!! :)

Piece of mind is worth a lot. Thinking about letting obnoxious rebuild it. Not looking for anything crazy just a dependable river cruiser. Top speed around 65 with enough power to pull skiers and tubes

But no replacement for displacement

Need to make sure the small block is machined for marine application still gonna cost lil bit to have a reputable shop machine it then use a Lunati sledgehammer crank forged non twist excellent crank handle anything u can throw at it
I'd look at the GM cam 3972178 if u keep it a 350
