Heres the story Glass , I bought this boat and it ran fine...we took it out on Lake Perris and Ive started it up a couple times since then...the last time I started it up it made this weird sound like it was bound up .. so I pulled the started and the nose cone was snapped off... so I took the starter with me and got a new one they matched the numbers ( Keep in mind I'm a novice wrench turner ) I put in the new starter and I crank it over and theres thats same noise again..so I pull out the new started and the nose cone is snapped off again :banghead: So my first question to this very saavy forum is why did it run fine and now all the sudden its snapping nose cones ?? and secondly I was told that the motor has too much compression and needs a high performance starter?? any thoughts ???
