Where should I get the positive for my hei distributor from?  I'm thinking the key switch on a relay. What do you guys use?

The power demand on an HEI is pretty high.  Low voltage on one will kill the module.

I would run a cheapo Bosch relay and power the relay up with a 12 gauge wire right off the hot wire going from the engine to the dash.  Then switch the relay on with the ignition wire from the key.
