Title: Not enough carb

I'm running a 496 stoker with rectangular port gm heads lighting headers hei ignition w/ a CID box mild cam by clay smith  4 bolt main block H beam rods on 91 octane gas. I'm using a 750 dbl pump demon carb jetted to the sky   Rpm is at 5000  I think I could go at least 850 or bigger   ANY SUGGESTIONS I'm all ears

That is way too small IMO. I run an 1150 on my 468. 10 and 1/2 to 1 a dominator would be a good idea i think.

I don't no my compression ratio butt I need a min of 91 octane I've battled lean plugs since I've built it it got jet that would come in a 850  just don't want to wast $$ on the wrong carb I think the moter is capable of a lot more HP

You can always buy a user 850 and test it. Compared to new they are half the price, with a time and a rebuilt kit good as new... And if it doesn't work just sell it for what you paid for it. Carbs don't loose there value other than new and used.

I'm running a quickfuel 950 on my 496. Works good what kind of HP are you making?

   Couldn't tell for sure 450 to 500 maybe ill no this winter I'm going to pull the motor and have it dynoed that's when I want to purchase a carburetor so they can tune it
