LOL! There's quite a few of them out there running! Sunday's prolly the worst day to get an answer though.

Personally, I think it has more to do with your setup than whether the T/R is worthwhile. T/R on a basically stock configuration motor and cam? Nope! waste of time. You need a cam and top end setup working hard in the upper RPM range (And the bottom end to support that) for the T/R to do what it's supposed to do. Regardless of engine brand. Then there comes the carb selection for it, where you'll hear a few opinions on that. I'll stay out of that part. What I had, while unpopular and bordered blasphemy, worked, and worked well.

I ran a single carb offy on my bbf and loved it....gained 200 rpms, icing up the tr densing up the fuel....alot of people told me the tr was a bad idea but i never had tuning issues only thing i changed was on the carb i went front and rear 50cc accelerator pumps and squared the carb at 80 all the way around on the jets...oh yeah relatively stock motor

Right on guys thanks for the input.  I ended up picking that deal up, the price got even sweeter and I couldnt pass it up.  I know this is a loaded question- but In your opinion or experiance, what size carbs are you running or have run with some success.  I know that the motor set up is not Ideal to maximize the t/r set up, but just looking for some opinions.  I still have my single set up so I am just playing with some options.  Thanks

Old post, havent been paying attention lately.

I was running twin 750 4160 Holleys. Worked extremely well on Moo's old engine! Fuel efficent (As far as T/R's go) when you kept the foot out of it, and balls out when in it. Plugs were always a dark tan color and very even. No idea what jets/pumps were in them, bought them new from a dyno shop here in Tucson that tried, and tuned the hell out of them, for a T/R BBC and ended up switching to 600's. They were just too much I guess, but with my combo, worked great as soon as I bolted them on! Moo's 460 motor was pretty far from stock, Nordies old 429 was just as it came out of a Station Wagon as I understand it.

I beleive Nordie was running a single 850 DP Holley. Could be wrong, but his talent in carb setup made it work somehow, and work WELL! (I'm not a fan of single carb T/R setups).

You know you got it right when you can make a smoothie scraping the ice off the manifold and your plugs look good and even!  ;)

Biggest thing on, well, really any engine for that matter, is read your plugs! Much more important on pseudo extreme deals like a T/R or extreme deals like a Blower.   ;)
