so i get ready to change my oil i know the motor has to come out of the boat, buuuuut i thought that maybe i could siphon it out with this(https://www.socaljetboats.com/cpg/albums/userpics/10041/DSC02113.JPG) so i take the drain plug out and stuff the hose in the drain hole, in the panic to get the hose in the hol i drop the drain plug and it rolls under the pan, curse really loud. >:(
then i try to get the siphion going, wont go shit i got 20-50 in it and it's cold, the oil is too thick. i reach for drain plug that is now under the pan and well you know i cant get it. the magnets on the tool box but im stuck with my finger in the hole >:( >:( >:( . so i stuff the hose back in the hole and go get the magnet, and this is what i came back to

(https://www.socaljetboats.com/cpg/albums/userpics/10041/normal_DSC02108.JPG) and clean up the mess, curse some more >:(

hey i just like to know how long did it take to pop the motor out just the motor and to install again not the clean up time. just want to know thanks
-
about an hour
-
well i think with you doing it in a hour you should pop the motor when you need to change the oil from now on and you will probably get faster at it anyway. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have 50wt in mine and the oil wont even come out the hose. I have to run the motor till its warmed up and even then it takes an eternity. I hope it works out better for you .

Is there some special reason you are running 50wt oil ?
I bet if you ran a bit lighter oil it might pick up a few HP.
Just a thought.
-
Damn that was funny, thanks! ;D

When I run lighter stuff the oil pressure goes way down . With the 50wt , it fires up at 100psi (at least) and after a few laps it goes down to 50 - 60 psi.

Have you thought about an oil cooler ? :P
-
Have any of u guys thought about blue printing the oil pump and opening up all the oil passages? with 20-30 my ford runs a constant 110 psi from start up to finish no change all day
-
I run 10-30 in heat racing and my presure is 70-80 & 20-50 for lake and river runs 65-70 all day, :o
-
Dam neer everyone i know with jet boats runs 50 wt for some reason they all think they have race motors :D
-
The thing is back in the day when I was working on cup cars we ran less than 5wt in qualifing.
-
i know a couple guys that race in blythe that run that but all they do is sit make one or to passes and sit the rest of the day , thats why i run the 20- 30 wt so i can make a few passes and still go for a put if i want ;D
