Push to pull on da holley
« on: May 28, 2013, 09:58:18 PM »
Ok so ive looked through the threads to see if I could find one about my ish but haven't. So bear with me if there is. On my holley 4150 dp I found out a little late that I needs a pull cable inseatd of a push like my old one. Do I have to get a new cable for a push along with a bracket or what needs to happen here? Bracket is probably needed im sure so who makes some that are worth the money? Lathe and mill are down right now so im sol on my own accord. Point me down the right path guys, thanks.

Why don't you just keep your pull cable and switch the ball to the bottom of the linkage...

That was my first thought was too put the ball on the bottom but there isn't any room for it.

As far as the brackets from summit, I've seen them and trust you they work great, I was just wondering if anyone knew a special "boat" part guy if you will that makes a bitchen bracket.

Put a 1" spacer under the carb....room. I have the same bracket as kaotyk and will be straight with regular manifold.

Oh and also if I rerouted my push cable to the front of the motor from the back, would the excess cable by a binding issue of some sort? Should I just buy a shorter one to avoid the issue?

If the cable is long enough, going under the motor and a large radius from the rear has less binding. From the front the cable has an "S" curve in it and binds more, and the throttle gets 'twitchy'.

I put a return spring at carb as I have a nice curve in cable near pedal.
