Title: Oil leak help.

I need some help brothers. New motor 455, at high rpm I have an oil spray. I've already changed the oil filter housing gasket. And everything is the same. My flywheel is dry, so I don't think it's the rear seal. Any tips will help. It only happens under high throttle. So basically high oil pressure.

Where is the dipstick on an Olds? How many quarts of oil are you running? Maybe the pan is a little on the full side. The pans never run the advertised volume. Also, I don’t think you’d want to with the way a boat gets bounced around.

It might be pushing out if the dipstick. Where’s the dipstick on the Olds?

Dipstick is on the driver side.

Is it coming out of the drain plug hose?  Oil pan bolts tight?

Yeah the pan bolts are all torqued. I'm  running about 8 quarts in the pan. At higher speeds it sprays onto my exhaust and transom. Maybe I'll drain a quart out, and see what happens. Thank you for all your help.

I know you replaced the oil filter adapter gasket already. By any chance did you check to see if the adapter is still flat or maybe something left on the block so it is not hung up? In one of the pictures it looks like the passenger rear (block and head) are wet. This could just be paint that ran. I’m not sure if there is a optical illusion on another. Is the rear motor plate sitting on the boat floor? Probably just me.

The one time I had a random oil leak and looked over the whole engine to find everything completely dry.  Well come to find out the gasket from the old oil filter was still on the block and when I tightened the new filter down it obviously didn't seal. So the oil filter was leaking oil bad, just couldnt see it because it was leaking from the side I couldn't see. Probably not your problem but just something to check.

Does the engine have an oil pressure sensor / sender unit like this?  They can leak quarts in minutes under throttle.

When I replaced the gasket on the oil filter adapter I wiped everything down with degreasing wipes to make sure it would adhere. The motor plate sits like 1"  off the floor. I did notice the three bolts used to attach it, only engage 4-6 threads. I'll check the oil filter and let you guys know what I find.

My oil pressure comes out on the front driver side.
