What are the pros and cons from have a full sump or rear sump oil pan

The simple answer:

The full length type pans are able to hold more oil and generally have more or better baffling to help keep the oil around the pickup and away from the crankshaft.

If you hang out long enough gtjets or flusher will come along and give a much more technical explanation.  ;)
