So I went to mojave today hit some nice coves and ran the F$&@ outa the boat
When I started it at the beginning of the day 55 or 60 psi oil pressure tuned it and tweaked it ran it for a bit
Pressure dropped to about 25-30 psi when I was finally at temp for a while
Running flat out for a while ... It would hold at 25 and would even drop lower when I was on it for a while
Slow down and it would hold at 25-30
I stopped and chilled for a couple hours and started it up and it made 50 psi again...
Wtf is going on I mean I do run it hard
Do I need a cooler ? I run 15w40 rotella

Sounds like foaming and/or heat. What pan and how much oil?

As well as the questions that GT has asked . I'd stop using muti weight oil.

if it's an electric gauge, get rid of it and add a mechanical.

Ok so
It is an electric gauge with the bell type sender
It has a 12 quart fabricated oil pan with a windage tray and baffle
The motor is a 468 big block chevy full roller solid lifters how much detail you want lol

How much oil in the pan? I would bet a baloney sandwich there is too much oil in it.
Free experiment, pull two quarts and run it again.
Better yet. Pull three and add a quart if oil stabilizer.

Mine does it too. It's the heat. I have been trying to figure out a way to cool the oil that won't cost me an arm and a leg. I have a gen 5 block so I could use the factory oil cooling ports in the block. When the oil heats up to idle temp it drops a bit from thinning out. Meaning the hotter the oil the thinner it is equalling less pressure. When I run mine hard ( over 3500 rpm's) for a bit and come down to idle the oil is HOT and the pressure drops to 15 psi. There are other factors that you may have to consider, block expansion vs bearing expansion etc. Run it. Get a cooler if you must but if it's HOT and goes below 15 psi at idle, I would worry. Just a theory I've been working on. I could be wrong. But over time and heat cycles my pressure gets worse. Change the oil and it goes back to my first sentence. I may be wrong.

Too much oil would mean the crank counter weights are dipping into the oil causing it to foam and tranfer heat. After you run it check the dipstick. If there's foam there is a minor issue. Someone else should chime in as well.

Slow down there brother.
One thing at a time.
Your oil might be fine. The counter weights are not dipping into the oil.
What happens is something called windage.
Basically stated, the beat frequency from the counter weights pulsate the oil and whips it into a bubbly/aerated liquid that basically increases the oil level with foamy oil.
Foamy oil does not cool very well, it gets hot as hell and the viscosity takes the big poo.
By lowering the oil level further away from the crank, this problem lessens and hopefully the issue goes away.
An oil stabilizer, if added, helps reduce the foaming action and can actually reduce the oil temps. It works almost like a fabric softener by lowering the surface tension making it harder to form sustainable bubbles.

Doesn't really matter. A tray can actually make things worse.

Yes. Be sure to make at least a temporary new mark on the dipstick. Sharpie works ok.
