Header cooling
« on: May 13, 2017, 04:40:51 PM »
Since Rewarder is gone I am building my own thru transom headers for my LS swap. The headers are almost done. Need to clean them up and paint them. My question is, do you just split the outlet water from the motor and dump it in the collectors or meter some water to the collectors and the rest overboard? They have conventional injection lines, But I can't find any info on how much water to put in the collectors to keep the hoses alive.

The water needs to go into the collectors to keep the transom hoses alive.

Logs and snails are like this, too.

The water injection will need some, and the rest to the collectors. How much water? That's the question.

I'd have a valve by the drivers seat for the injection.

I have the injection set up with an MSD rpm switch and a solenoid. It also has a manual valve to adjust the flow. I was just wondering about the water to the collectors. Seems to be a tough subject. This is my third forum and yours is the first answer! So all of the engine cooling water in the collectors?

Mercruiser, Imco, logs and snails, all work this way. even my jet ski, yamaha wave runner is the same way.
