Any reason I should not run Valvoline Racing 20w50?

I've always been a fan of wix filters, good also I assume?

I run the 20/50 VR1 in my boat and it's fine and yes a wix is a decent filter

I run a Pure Power lifetime filter on all my cars and boats. Gives you a good read every time you clean it.

Ok so I just went to their site and it shows 45 microns and full flow by pass. I would not use it on my lawn mower

Just came from my local NAPA store.  Next week 11/14 - 11/19  all NAPA Gold filters are 40% off.
I have always heard good things about their oil filters, but I have never cut one open or analyzed 'em.  I just unscrew on and screw a new one back on.  Never had a problem even on my Mopars running 80+ pounds of pressure.

I normally recommend the Valvoline VR1 as being easy to obtain, with the extra zinc and phosphorus additives required for a flat tappet cam.  I actually ran some today in a 548 cubic inch pump gas engine I had on the dyno. 

If the Brad Penn oil was a bit easier to get, I would highly recommend it, based on what my turbo engine looked like after 6 years of racing.

Gonna stock up in that case. I use the wix on three trucks and now the boat.
I usually buy the wix brand from o'reilly but I have bought the Napa filter for the diesel since o'reilly doesn't stock big filters.

Thanks for posting that link.  I am sure going to re-think how I do things with my street motors.   On the other hand, Castrol and whatever filter JiffyLube uses got a Toyota 4 cyl. and two Dodge 360' all over 230,000 miles with no failures, good compression, and minimal oil consumption.   Not sure if that was just good luck, good oil, or what .  .  .

(gopurepower.com) found them at sema he is the guy who designed the system one filter years ago also the by pass has never been open.

I run brad Penn in all of my boats and mud drag truck and never had a problem. Motors look as clean as the day they were new. Wix filters are great Fleetguard and Baldwin also make great filters and will stand behind there stuff.

When I rebuilt the motor in the Nordic, I used VR1 20-50 for a few months. I have since changed to straight 50W VR1. I didn't like how thin the 20-50 got wgen it got hot. Not a fan of running 70+ oil psi and having it go down to 35 after coming off plane. With the heavier oil it now drops less than 10 psi. I have also been using K&N filters. WIX are good. When I was a mechanic that's all we used was WIX
