Where is the simplest most accurate place and way to install an oil temperature Guage on a 460 with stock oil pan?

if there is no bung in the pan use the drain plug hole

Are the threads on a drain plug standard npt?
Is there anywhere else? The drain plug is REALLY hard to get to

The easiest way would be to use a transmission temp gauge and simply epoxy a pipe thread coupling to the pan with some JB Quick.
Be sure the surface its silly clean and roughed up with some 80 grit paper. Then just install the sender like normal. Just apply some heat sync compound on it before screwing it in.
Works like magic.
BTW, most drain plugs are 14mm,, just like a spark plug.
Don't over think it...
