I started my boat like I do once a month to keep everything  good to go. I hooked up the hose started it let it run for a while everything was good opened it up a little bit everything was fine shut it down remove the water hose when to start it up again to blow out the water backfire through the carburetor and died when to restart it wouldn't start, tried it again barely got it started sounded horrible putt putt putt putt putt like timings completely wrong and I died I didn't want to do it again figured I'd ask somebody on here any input would be cool thank you

Don't crank it over again until you pull the plugs and check for water, might have possibly gotten reversion or just flooded water in through exhaust. I'd pull all the plugs and crank it and watch for water. Just my .02

thanks guys I'll pull a plug tomorrow an go from there..
blown power valve is that a major / expensive fix?

Power valves are less than 15.00.  Most Holley carbs have,2. They're located in the metering block.   Really easy to replace.
