Post by: AA/Paul on May 28, 2008, 12:06:11 PM
I'll be doing a quickie bowl, streamline the guides, back cut the intake valves, blend short side radius. I'll keep track of time and $ spent. Also I will have flow #'s be fore and after. I shoulsd have only 2 to 3 hrs per head. I'm hopeing to pick up 15 cfm or so. heads are going to the hot tank thursday.

Ka   with the 45 deg exh seats. I'll be running the stock rockers so I'm limited on lift. If there's a cheap rocker solution I'm there.

Alrighty then. OH I'm running logs. So the exhaust side is for ideas only. Got 1/2 of 1 head done. Flow it the tonite or 2morrow. It looks like i'll have about 2 hrs in each head total. Maybe less. This NOT an allout nut slinger. Just looking for EASY HP. The catridge roll sanding is to kinda smooth over the carbide bumps. Sanding time 5 min. Don't be afaid to try this!!!

What did you do for the bowls, are you blending them into the bottom angel by hand? Or are you using some sort of cutter for 75*?

PW......
I'm doing the bowls by hand. Just bearly tapering the intake guides and taking about .03 off the pushrod tube lump. 45 deg seats on exh. Just basic stuff.  ;)

Quick update.
A fast blend of the bowls, radiusing guide,no port match yet.
Disapointing !  only picked up 12 cfm at .500. stock valve, and seat.
I'll give clear steps of a,b,c and results. this is step 1 of 3.

You were only shooting for 15cfm from what I remember - 12 is most of the way there....

Info and #'s done on a superflow bench at 28"/ with the 455 bore dia.  A larger base dia would give bigger #'s
