Title: Olds 455 parts
Post by: diesel_lv on March 20, 2012, 12:24:32 PM
I picked up a 1976 unknown make 19' with a 350 olds. At least thats what I thought. It runs just fine and I was adjusting the carb and saw the engine block number and decided to run it. It winds up being an Olds 260 V8. Now, the really interesting part. It has all Hardin Marine parts on it. Logs, front plate, bellhousing and valve covers. The valve covers say 455 Olds. I know that 455 heads will bold on to a small block Olds, my question is, are all the rest of the Hardin parts for a 455? And if so, I guess I could very easily switch it back over to a 455 if I can find one in the So Cal/NV/AZ area. Thanks for any help.

No mistake on what engine is, block casting number confirms small block 260. Just wanted to kno if th Hardin parts would match up. Called Mondello (spelling)  later today and they said yes. Thanks tho.
