hey guys. just had the motor rebuilt and very pleased with it. just wondering on what rpm range i should be looking at with a pretty much stock 455 with a 510 in. clay smith cam and a holley 650
-
nothing over 5000 rpms prob in the 3500 to 4 range all day.

I bought one from a board member and it seems to be pretty well built, nothing too racey. I only see about 4400 with Weiand single plane, 750 carb and logs. "A" pump I think.
But this one holds oil pressure and doesn't know so I kinda like it so far 8)

okay cool. i had the boat oout yesterday and with me and the ol lady it turned about 43 to 4500. the 4500 was with just me in it. i had it out a month ago and the river and i raced the boat against our stx-15f and was ahead of it. my brother said he was doing about 60 to 62 but not sure thats correct

My boat is huge and heavy. 43-4500 rpm probably more like about the same MPH.

What spark plugs are you using?

Dunno but I am taking it to 5000+ ft. this weekend which oughtta make her run a bit rich. I hope I don't have to look at what kind of spark plugs I have O0

Where are you going? 5000ft sounds like Arrowhead. If you come to Big Bear, let me know..
