Title: Olds main cap torque any1 know it?

I think 1 thru 4 is 85 and 5 is 105 does any1 know for sure?

120ft/lbs on all mains on the 455.....

120ft/lbs on rear and 1-4 @ 85ft/lbs on other motors (350 etc...)

Cool thanks also i got one bearing with no groove or hole where does it go number 1 cap ?

Might wanna check that.  Theres no reason why the same bolts used in a different position should have a higher torque spec.

4 bolt SBC mains go 70ft/lbs on the inners and 65ft/lbs on the outers

BBC use 110 on all the mains.

I believe so, the oil pump is in the rear, so the front main survives by oil supplied through the crank, but need to verify that for sure (been a while).

Ah, I thought when you said "other engines" like a 350 you were refering to chevy stuff.  My bad.  I misread it.

I figured, I only included the 350 comment because he never stated 455, he just said "Olds", there are quite a few 350 Oldsmobile's in jets out there.... ;)

Ment to specify sorry bout that i got the crank in tho thanks guys hope to be on the water by the 4th goin to black meadows mabey the sat b4 the 4th stoppin at big river not sure yet tho
