New to jet boating loving it, I have 468 with logs and snails thinking over transom headers would be rad. I'm curious about how you preheat the water without the water jacket in the logs and would I still verry the water flow with the valve on the pump?

The water is no longer preheated.
Water from the pump is slowed down, using the gate valve at the pump, to maintain engine temperature. 130° underway is plenty, and running 155° in the no wake zone is fine.
The water is Tee'd off to keep the headers cooled. 30 hp is typical, even more on performance builds.
