So here is my problems and questions.
I have been searching for answers,diagrams and I'm getting seriously comfused
I would like to run a manual control valve for my headers but I'm not sure how the lines are ran from the pump to that. This is where I need a diagram...
I have the bassett tee for precautionary reasons. I have read about a relief valve not sure where that goes and i have also read about a gate valve at the dump line.
I would like for someone to start from the pump and guide me through the plumbing process with the size hoses and what not. I would also like to get links and information on where to purchase these relief valves and manual control ( USED WOULD BE GREAT)...
I am also curious as If I can put a 45deg fitting straight off the pump to get the line tuck tight to my stronger under the rail kit. Just my preference on the cleanliness.

1/2" hardline from the pump, to a pressure relief valve to drop the pressure. some say this isnt necessary, its your motor not mine. not here to debate engine water psi...
from the relief valve attach a gate valve to control flow.
from the gate valve run 1/2" up and into the front water passages. water goes thru and cools the block. it then exists at the top of the intake manifold in the front. theres USUALLY 2 ports. run 1 port overboard out thru the transom thru a bulkhead fitting with 1/2" hose. this'll dump unneeded hot water out the back of the boat.
the other port run a 1/2" hose to the drivers seat to a 45* ball valve so you can turn the water to the exhaust on/off manually. from that valve run back to the center of the motor. this'll attach to the "tee valve" with a ball and spring inside so that it you forget to turn the valve off it'll keep your exhaust valves safe. from that tee you'll feed each header water line... it'll inject into each tube and turn to steam when the rpms are over 2k.
you'll adjust the gate valve to control engine temp once you get it into the water and running.

When you mention 1/2 what size steel braided line is that. #8 or #10. Also I can just use a standard gate valve instead of that fancy box valve correct.

-10 has an inner diameter of roughly 1/2"
I would use a gate valve at the pump so you can fine tune temp and if you bump it, it won't move on you.
Use a ball valve at the drivers seat so you can quickly flip it on and off.

As far as the relief valve is that something I can make on my own or find something similar at a plumbing supply house. Pics or links would be great.

Gate valve at pump. Ball valve at seat. No valve on dump line.

with HEADERS, I run a gate valve at the pump, Tee, one side (1/2") goes to water ports on the motor, the other (1/4") goes to the drivers seat, ball valve, and returns to the headers. Did this 1/4" in ss braided, as well as main feed to motor. On 7th season this way.
