Well it's all back together. I got new cheapie cast valve covers cause the other cheapies cracked when I welded on them a few years ago. This time I pre-heated and welded the oil fill bung from the back side for a cleaner look. I also drilled and tapped the valve covers for breather fittings for -10AN (7/8-14) O-ring fuel rail fittings from Sweet Perf. I machined the O-ring chamfer (O-ring boss tool $$)and they seal great, again I wanted to get away from welding them in. There are also baffles on the back side.
Also mocked up the dyno box and the wiring, installed the distributor and next up plugs and wires. I am going to the Dyno shop on Thursday afternoon to set up. Then will be making pulls Monday. The dyno owner has a race to go to this weekend, so this is the only time he has. I am nervous and excited as well.

Brought it to the dyno last eve to set up. I did mostly everything setting it up except driving the tow motor. The owner of the shop gave me free reins. I must be comparing these dyno rooms to Hot Rod TV shows or something. Man this dyno room was dirty. There was oil, coolant and RTV everywhere on the floor, the work bench was un-uasble and there was soot everywhere. I let the dyno owner know I do not work this way and used to clean stuff. He knew I really was not that happy with this.
Anyway dyno runs and the EFI tuner and going to be Monday.

Looks bad a$$ TJ. I didn't see the wide band o2 hooked up? I'm excited for you. Hey TJ I got a question for yea. Have you considered switching over to E85. I currently researching the fuel and am planning for the switch when I have my tune fully dialed. Are you running pump or race on that monster. I'm planning on starting a thread on E85 because of some other forums Ive been on. Its quite popular with high boost motors.

Looks like a similar dyno shop, lol

E85 is not offered in CT. and they do not expect it to be here as it is a big political football. Unchained from PB runs E85 on his twin turbo deal and it is sick. He is the person to talk to about this. He is a great tuner too. The wide band is not hooked up yet as I will be there tomorrow morning to finish up. I am also bringing a laptop with a wide band that I am going to put it on the other header. Hopefully the laptop does not get too hot as I am going to prop it up on a crate on the dyno floor. ;D

Any update on how the testing/tuning session went?

Not so good results: Dyno shop it is not!
Story:
I used the shop's "dyno" headers and I questioned the fit to the owner when I was putting these things on. #4 wire was so close to the header it was rediculous. So he gave me some asbestos "condom". I knew this was going to be an issue. The first day of testing we were making some good high torque readings (with the EFI tuner) and I was always questioning the smoke coming from the "condom". The dyno owner kept stating that the "condom" has some oil on it and it is burning off. Well when taking the headers off the next day I noticed this. So it was misfiring and we could not hear it under load. Hence the answer to why it lost torque the next day and it still pulled 630HP at 6100 on 7 cylinders, number 4 plug was black and smelt of raw fuel, the inside of the header was also black and sticky, the other header tubes were nice and clean. All in all the dyno tune still gained over 200HP and torque since we started.
So last year I was running pig rich with 6 lbs of boost and it was still pretty fast and threw you back in the seat as the holeshot was insane. I was only spinning a "A" cut impeller to 5200RPMs. I think with this tune it will feel like more inasane and maybe break the seat this time:D
The most important thing to note is that there is a "safe" tune and I can hammer it without wondering what is going to happen to the motor.
I want to thank Chris at EFI Logics for putting up with me as I was at the point of just calling it off and packing it up with all the issues we had at the dyno.
Thanks again Chris. You will be the first to go for a rip on this thing. Get you goggles ready cause you aint gonna see shit with your eyes watering.
