I know this may sound really stupid. The day cruiser I bought a while back, I decided to pull the 460 out and give it a good check out. However I can not get the motor to come off the spine to the pump. What am I doing wrong? Does it not just slide off as it appears it would do? Any help would be appreciated

Yup... Just hold your mouth just right and wiggle wiggle wiggle... Don't lift it to high... Should just have to lift it a tad higher than where the original motor mount bolts were

It slides off, if it's been on there a long time it could be seized.
Is it moving at all?

The splines could be twisted.
Whack the snot out of it with a hammer using a block of hardwood.

If it was that hard to remove, check the splines to verify that the shaft is indeed not twisted and that the yoke slides freely.
