So did we. Well actually about 85 psi but we flogged a variety of B and RB Mopars mercilessly and used FRAM exclusivey with zero failures. But times change and the quality is no longer all that great. There are lots of better options available for the same money. And this is not something you want to cut corners on, motors are pricey to put back together when the $10 oil filter fails.

Well I think we figured out this oil and water issue over the winter I took the heads off and found the driver side head was warped and leaking water into the valley. I took them off an had them checked for cracks and machined. I put it back together mid march and haven't touched it since. So I figured tonight while I'm cleaning the garage I might give an update. Now to get it ready for the 4th in havasu
Also went and got a new temp gauge pressure relief valve and a ball valve for the headers to be safe

Well today after I removed the 4l60e from my truck and took it to get rebuilt. I decided while I wait for that I would put some focus into the boat. So I put new carpet on the floor and tanks, painted the engine bay, put the motor back in, removed the seats and cleaned them, and hooked up all the wiring. It was a Very productive day for me haha tomorrow or the next day I'm going to reglass the seat mounts and finish the carpet up front.

Took the boat to Elsinore today and ran it for a few hours. Besides for the battery being a little to weak this thing ran great. Temps were 150 in no wake and 120 or so at speed. Around 45 psi after three laps at 3k rpm. Oil level stayed the same which is really nice

Had my first full weekend without having to wrench on this boat 1 time it was really nice, didn't have 1 single problem all weekend. We went to willow valley for my first time and my dad ended up buying a place out their so I have a new spot haha. I ran the dog piss out of this boat all weekend and it took it like a champ I'm finally proud of it. I also found out it loves 10 gal of 110 an 10 gals of 91 in it. Only went threw 20 gals of fuel all weekend met some really cool people all in all great weekend

thanks, I wish she was my wifey. She was just some girl I met on the beach an asked if she wanted to go for a ride haha. That's the thing about this boat everything is oddball but for how it performs I never think about what the naysayers say. I have two things going against me according to some of them.#1 I have an Oldsmobile #2 I have a jacuzzi jet, it maybe a Frankenstein american turbine but still. This last weekend I made a few of them believers haha

Hmmm Oldsmobile with milky oil... Been down that route a lot... Ended up being the machining on the block.. I tried resealing IM gasket, timing chain gasket, timing chain cover.. You'll get it figured out!

Don't Olds have an issue if there is too much cooling water pressure, it can push water into the oil?
Something about the water passage is too close to the edge where it can get into the oil.

When I had my engine rebuilt, I ended up with a milkshake. I closed the water intake valve a little and have not had a problem since.

I know this probably has GT shaking his head about reducing the inlet water. But that's for another thread.

But my point is, can too much water pressure push past a gasket, in a certain area, that is specific to an Olds?

I'm almost positive its to much water cause of the fact that someone bumped my main inlet ball valve, wide open and I didn't catch it in till I notice I was making temp when it went in to the water on Saturday, I usually sit their and idle facing up river till it gets about 150-160 then I'll go and it'll drop to 120-130. It took about 10 mins to get anywhere on the gauge. Time to invest in a pressure relief valve😡.

1. I run straight 50w vr1 why on this fresher motor am I only seeing 40 psi cold?
2. From willow valley marina to the beach maybe .25 miles, why does my oil pressure drop to 10 psi?
( bearings gone )
3. When I take a Stoll to pirates cove I'm pushing oil out passed the breathers and out of the dipstick (excessive blow by, rings shot?)?
The block does have main and lifter bore restictors in it, and a high volume oil pump
When the motor was fresh I was seeing about 80 psi cold and 65 hot

Bearings going would be the most likely cause of the low oil psi.

Switch out the ball valve for a gate valve, finer adjustments than a ball valve, once its set, tighten the packing nut, and 'zip tie' it for security.

I had this problem on a BBC, water pushing out from intake water ports, installed gate valve 14 or 15 years ago, not a problem since.

I'm sure someone will chine in on this. I can't seem to find the article or pictures right now. There is a thread somewhere here in the board that shows pictures and dimensions.

What it boils down to is drilling and tapping the front and/or rear of the heads and oil pan to return excess oil into the pan.
