I have some stock chrome plated valve covers that are rusting. I would like to replace with them aluminum ones for the ford 460. My concern is the clearance between the exhaust risers and the valve covers per pictures. The stock ones are sort of triangle shape. Most the ones I have seen online are tall squares which I think will interfere with the exhaust risers.

I poked around on summit and jegs, cp performance ect, and didn't find any that would work with center riser exhaust.
Use some gojo hand cleaner on those rusty ones, and about 90% of the rust will come off. And at least be presentable. Or get the same chrome ones again, pretty cheap. Doesn't solve the typical leaking problems of stamped steel tho. 3M "gorilla snot" weather stripping adhesive the cork gasket to the valve cover and let cure.
Grease the bottom of the gasket prior to assembly, just a thin coat. This works wonders.
Using open element breathers will help alleviate back pressure and helps with not pushing valve cover gaskets out.

Thanks. I didn't see any stamp sized aluminum ones, all the aluminum ones seem designed for tall applications that will interfere with the risers. I found some painted black steel ones cheap that will work.
These risers are a pain also because I can' t get a spark plug socket on them either. Looks like I have to remove the risers just to change the spark plugs unless someone has some magical method. I tried angled socket/etc, just not enough clearance.
