Title: Rev limiter
Post by: UltraRed on April 20, 2012, 07:47:56 PM
Guys i have a MSD-6m2 box. I know the 6M2L (or something like that) has the built in limiter. What can i do to mine to limit the motor to about 5500 besides for keeping my foot out of it.

MSD used to have a Soft Touch Rev Control that was an add on rev limiter, check with Summit/Jegs to see if it is still listed.

ok thanks. the guy who owned previous to me provided the dyno sheet amongst other receipts. Showed it stop making HP at 5400 rpm. Figured i could set a limiter at 5500 and should (fingers crossed) never have any problems. The soft touch is adjustable correct?

This one uses the MSD plug in rpm "chips" like used in the 6AL boxes.  You normally have to buy them in a package of 5 (5000,5200,5400...)
