Title: Rocker arm question
Post by: Tio Pancho on June 30, 2010, 07:07:53 PM
The motor we are building was given to us by a friend. It turns out that some of the parts are either incomplete or from other motors.
I read that the rocker arm studs on the Mark IV 454 is 7/16". That is what I have. The rocker arms dont fit over the stud and I would have to push down pretty hard if I wanted to make it go on. It would seem to me that these are from another motor with a 3/8" bolt. If I do need to buy new rocker arms, what do you suggest? the motor is a stock 454 with a torker mtc-6 cam.

Thanks,

Frank

Frank,

If you are using just standard stamped steel rockers, I have a set....Used but in good shape, let me know if you need them..

And yes, they are more than likely from 3/8" and potentially the wrong ratio.

Took the rockers off the motor and put them in the bath (oily and don't want to piss off the shipper) as soon as I get them dried off they will be on their merry way.

16 rockers

16 cones

16 locknuts

Let me know if you fall short any where else...

Thats awesome. Thanks for the help.  I am trying to get the rest of my parts list made up right now. I'll be posting up again soon. ;D
