Simple enough to mount it to the doghouse with it's supplied bracket. Pops off the bracket with 1 screw, lay it on the engine then remove the doghouse. Could also wire it using a 4 pin trailer connector so simply unplug it, pop the wire off the dizzy and leave it on the doghouse when you remove it.
Problem with either of those solutions is no way, really, to run it with the doghouse removed, which would bother me greatly.
Don't know on yours, but both my cruisers had the batteries mounted to the stringers on either side of the pump driveshaft. Could quickly and easily weld a vertical plate off the top of one of the hold downs to mount it to. Be pretty close to your dizzy, and if it gets THAT swamped.......I think you'll be giving the "abandon ship" order......
