do any of you guys seal your tanks? I just spent the last two days sanding my saddle tanks and man were they nasty. I thought i would get a can of clearcoat or something and spray them so they will be easier to keep clean ???
Or is there something else i can use, or something that you use?

Just call them up and see if they seal tanks....I am sure they get those kinda requests all the time in that area.
Also, you can check with your local auto parts store (pep boys) and see if they sell a do-it-yourself kit. I think i read on here somewhere that they have such thing.

Thanks, i have been doing some searching online aint found chit. So im thinking just keep sanding till all the grooves are gone and then the dirt wont have a place to get trapped in. ( Spun aluminum) And then maybe just polish them ;)
Great two more days of sanding.

oh the inside..... ???
either polish them or just get some clear coat paint. There is no 'outside of the tank sealer'....

I have to say, and not to put Gords Polish in less light, but...
The oxidation on aluminum is easily taken care of by Acids. Thats all thats involved in the science of metal.
We sell a product that for guys with rigs just pray on, hose off and the aluminum looks like it was just polished.
Whats the secret? Ethylene glycol, Phosphoric acid and Ammonuim Bifuoride, and water, nothing else. it eats
away at the oxidation and leaves the shinny metal behind.
The best part is, your not working your ass off. Now to get it to a high mirror, polish it, but clear coat will not
stick well to smooth surfaces so....
you can either: 1) polish all the time,
2) use chemicals,
3) or etch and clearcoat.
