Holley 750 DP

Hey, Found a good deal on a Holley 750 double pumper that needs a rebuild. Would this carb be fine for my stock 454?

Guy just emailed me back.. Its a vac secondary.. Iv heard to stay away from these on boats. That true? The carb looks great and needs a rebuild for 50 bucks.. Kinda seems like I cant go wrong.

its been said that an engine in a jet boat doesnt make enough vac to open it fully. Stick to what has been proven to work over and over, mech secondaries.

Brad's got an Holley 850 w/ Mech seconds for sale at a good price. Thats your best bet!

X2, you could get it to work, but I think you will be much happier with the mechanical secondary deal.  :thumbup:

Talked me into it. Just sent payment to Brad. Now for intake.. Found a local guy selling a torquer 2 for 40 bucks for my oval heads. Opinions on the intake?

$40 sounds pretty cheap for a Torker 2, I am wondering if it is cracked or warped, good manifold IMHO though...

I picked it up. Took a straight edge with me and it was square to the eye (and ruler). The only issue is that it had a burr where the therm. housing bolts up. Guy said they just ran a little extra RTV there. Couldnt pass it up for 40 bucks. Nothing else its a tire chaulk!

Hey guys, I'm new to the jet boats and until a few days ago i didn't even know there were marine carbs, lol. Anyway i have a Holly DP that needs rebuilt. I'm wondering if there is a difference in the rebuild kits between a Auto and marine carb? Any information is greatly appreciated.

It will use the same kit.  A Holley "marine" carburetor has a little different metering to handle the load of a boat, and then of course the visibly obvious "J" tubes for the vents that are used to keep sloshing fuel from being spit straight up, presumably to help prevent a fire in the boat.
