Title: Single cable Morse helm shaft adapter

I have a morse single cable helm on the hallett that has a morse bezel and steering wheel adapter. I'd like to run this (see pic). Can I run that or do I have to run the morse style bezel with shaft adapter. I am going for this look (see pic 2). Or do I need a different helm to run billet shaft adapter?

What I remember, unbolt your present adapter.  Exposing tapered shaft w/a keyway and a key. Slide new adapter in place over key and tighten the hell out of it.With old nut if it's in good shape. ....what I can remember. I take no responsibility for your work! !
