So I currently have my damaged head in the shop, hoping to hear back soon. Started talking to the owner about the block. Anyone ever sleeved the cylinder? Costly? Effective? I dont know a whole bunch about it. Trying to figure out ways to get back on the water without costing an arm and a leg.

i had a cylinder in a mustang sleeved. i had broken a piston skirt and cracked the side of the cylinder. so they bored it out and sleeved it. as long as there is enough meat there to bore out it'll be fine and its relatively cheap to do. much cheaper than buying a whole new block. but it'll need to be tore down to nothing before they'll do it.

It can work out really well ! If you have only one bad hole and everything else is in good shape, yes it's a good way to get back on the water.
