my small block 400 wont start or turn over. i had starter checked n came back ok reinstalled n motor fired n ran 2 3 times n next day would not fire. you just hear a click. put a new battery n ignition and still nothing. any suggestions dudes :banghead:

Try to turn the crank with a wrench and make sure it's not locked up....

If having it "checked" included taking it to your local Autozone, you might consider replacing the starter anyway. They don't have any way of duplicating the load while testing.

charge your battery, check cables. I' sitting here waiting for a 400 (406, 11:1) to be delivered

check the amp draw!!!!!!!!!!! you may just have a cable or conector issue. corrossion kills :banghead:

I agree, Replace starter anyway cause I have the same thing happen to me on my Blazer and Monte SS. You will get somewhere and go out to your car and nothing, Smack starter with a hammer and it fires right up and works for a few more weeks then bam! your stuck again.

damb it. it was the starter thanks dudes i was helping my buddy with his 400. someone asked if i was in vegas i live on the East side let me know if we can go skoot or if anyone wants to wrench not super knowledgable just work hard :beer:
