Newbie here. So this might seem like a rookie question to most of you veteran guys on scjb but here is my issue. Off of my snail to my tips I have about a 7 inch long gap (where usually a straight hose)would be attached. In my case I have a offset roughly one pipe diameter offset. And I can't find a hose that is flexible enough to make that bend.ive tried 3 different types of marine grade hose and no cigar. The hose needs to be 2 7/8 in . Any suggestions?

You are not going to get those snails to work with that tip location.
Or, you will not get that hole location to work with those snails.
The problem is that it will act like trap and reversion is all but guaranteed.
You will either need to find a snail with a taller outlet height (shouldn't be too bad), or change the location of the cutout (major bitch).

Not sure on the brand I'd have to look. But the guy I bought the boat from had it Jimmy rigged with some way bigger hose on a angle. Packed it with rtv and used double t clamps. Took it out to elsinore as soon as I got it and it ran like a champ. No issues (didn't hydrolock my motor)thank god lol. But me being as an anal as I am . I cut that hose out with a Saw to do it correctly. And found I couldn't find a correct way to do it with the methods I've tried.

Honestly, the most economical way to fox this would be to use larger tips cutting them in lower and using house large enough to go over the step in the outlet of the riser.
You will likely be able to cut the riser to gain some diameter, but you'll be changing it to fix an issue.
The alignment will improve dramatically and should fix the issue. Not a quick fix by any stretch, but a permanent one.

No, that's why the risers, they work like an inverted trap.
You will have to be careful with camshaft selection. Large lobe separation is a must (in the realm of 112°.).

I'm sure Joe (aka Flusher) will pipe in and expand on a solution, but all things being equal, I think this is your best option.
You will have to gain access to tips for the size of the step on those risers.

I'm really thinking about cutting the tips lower. Might do myself. But if not does anyone have someone they would recommend to do the work?

Hows your motor mounted? If you have a 4pt set up... you could raise the motor up to 3 degrees in your drive by keeping the pump shaft an crankshafts parallel to each other.. Measure your motor to pump/driveline angle. Your pic shows a huge offset from snail to tip an unless you plan on putting a large plate to cover the entire area... I'd look at motor placement first. The tops of my tips are at +/- water level. How does your tips sit while in the water?

It has 2 mounts up front. And looks like it's a direct drive shaft
